

The Ask
Create Packaging for Mucinex’s new Children’s cough gummy; Mighty Chews. I worked together with my team at Energy Studios, Oliver, and Reckitt to create these designs. The ask was to create two bottle labels for the Children’s cough gummies; one for the daytime gummy and one for the nighttime gummy. The labels had to appeal to children, while also conveying confidence in parents. The labels also had to match the current lineup of Children’s products, utilizing their Children’s logo lock-up.

One for Daytime
It was important to highlight that the two products were different; the Nighttime one included an antihistamine to help control your cough, helping you sleep, however both are the same Mixed Berry flavour. We chose to use orange for the daytime product and purple for the night time, after a lengthy process testing different colours.
One for Nighttime
We kept a little fruit graphic the same on both packages to make it clear they were both Mixed Berry. Both products, with their unique coloured caps, stood out on shelf, but looked cohesive with each other and the rest of the Mucinex Children’s lineup featuring the multi-coloured Children’s logo.



From Day to Night
We then combined these two looks, along with Mucinex brand colours to create the value pack. Crucial to this pack was demonstrating how full the bottles would be, and the actual size of the gummy since the bottles would be boxed, customers weren’t able to pick them up, flip them around and asses the actual gummy.
The solution was a peeled-back label showing how filled the bottles were on the front of pack images. To-scale renders of the gummy were added to the back upright panel.
