The Ask
Design labels for three types of Yellow Tail wine. I elected to design cans since they have become very popular here in Quebec for both cocktails and wine.
The Concept
Choosing wine is never an easy task, especially for a group of people with all different preferences. I chose to design labels that poke fun at people choosing wine. I personally mostly chose based on the label design (how can I not, as a designer!) I created these little goofy characters picking their wine, along with a hand lettered phrase you might say while picking something.
The colours, the characters, the friendly loopy lettering, is all picked to make the shopper smile, laugh a little at themselves trying to make a decision. I imagine a mix pack could be brought to a summer BBQ, and everyone would have a laugh picking the character that most resembled them. The colours are bright, and high contrast, making them stand out on shelf.
